A Golden Day for Andrew and St Bede's
This time the St Bede’s Swimming squad travelled further afield to the City of Cambridge Open Meet to seek out new competition. On the back of the great results from Brighton the squad were in determined mood and in particular, Andrew Horsfall-Turner seemed unstoppable as he took an amazing five gold medals and sent his personal best times tumbling! Andrew’s sister Katherine also added to the family collection as she added a further two gold medals. All the squad were making personal best times and the medals were coming in with every race – Cristina Richards and Rebekah Chapman had a good tussle for 1st place in the 400m IM with Cristina just edging it to take the gold.
Head Coach Kevin Ayers commented, “We had some excellent swims and lots of personal best times were made. Nearly all the squad came home with a medal and it was a very worthwhile journey”.
