A step back in time for Year 7 pupils

Year 7 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School stepped back in time when they welcomed the Rainbow Theatre group to the school for a workshop on the lives of Victorian children. The workshop was to give the children an insight into what it was like to be young in Victorian times and fire their imaginations as part of their studies of the Industrial Revolution in Integrated Studies. The children were enthusiastic as they acted out roles and were genuinely shocked to learn about the terrible conditions that children faced in schools, factories, coal mines and even down the sewers!

The children were all very thankful for living in these times and not being forced out to work to support their nine brothers and sisters!
