Arts Festival 19-25 April

This year, we decided to expand our annual Arts Festival to include other Eastbourne schools and we are very pleased that many of them have become involved. Together, we are starting a new Youth Arts Week as part of the Eastbourne Festival, to run alongside our own. This has led to an exciting and varied programme for our pupils. We hope that you may be able to join us: families are very welcome to come to any event here at the Prep School. All events are free. J Adams

Monday 19 April
Eastbourne schools’ art exhibitions open in the new block:
“The Eastbourne 100” and “The People Panels” open all week

Lunchtime concert in the Chapel at 1.20pm:
Luther Vine Haydn Trumpet Concerto
Hannah Savignon-Smythe Vocal Recital

Art exhibitions:
Private view 6.15pm – 7.30pm for parents, pupils and teachers of children involved

Tuesday 20 April
Concert by Indie group MyElement at 2pm in the Theatre, for Years 3 to 8 and Eastbourne schools

Wednesday 21 April
Dance workshops for Years 8
(9am – 11am) and 7 (11.20am – 1pm) in the Sports Hall by ex Rambert and Stomp dancer, Peter Francis

Hip-hop workshop at Eastbourne College at 2pm

Thursday 22 April
All-day dance workshop for Eastbourne schools by Peter Francis in the Sports Hall from 10am with a performance to parents at 6pm

Friday 23 April
Rainbow Theatre Company in the Theatre:
Pre-Prep 9am – 10am
Years 3 to 5 10.30am – 11.30am

Choreography Competition:
Juniors (up to Year 5) at 3pm
Seniors (Years 6 to 8) at 4pm in the Theatre

The Eastbourne “Shout” on the Western Lawns at 6pm with the choir: a community sing along

Saturday 24 April
Public viewing of the art exhibitions in the new block 9.30am – 12.30pm

Sunday 25 April
“Youth’s Got Talent”, Eastbourne schools’ talent show, at the Winter Gardens Floral Hall at 7pm
