BTEC Students make music
As part of their course, students studying for the BTEC Music Performance Certificate have to stage a public performance from scratch. Not only do they have to perform but they also have to organise the venue, market the event, sell tickets and provide refreshments.
The BTEC performance is always one of the highlights of the St Bede’s calendar and this year was no exception. The students, Ross Skilbeck, Iain Padget and Oberon King have really gelled as a group and make superb music together. Ross on keyboard and vocals is the front man, whilst Iain on trumpet and Oberon on drums are the power behind.
This year the UVIth group were brilliantly supported by the LVIth BTECs which bodes very well for next year’s concert.
