Four U6th BTEC sports students from St Bede’s Senior School were set the task of organising and carrying out a primary schools sports tournament as part of their BTEC assessment. After weeks of preparation a six a side football tournament was held in the schools sports hall with eight local primary schools taking part.

The day started with great excitement and anticipation to play and from the very first whistle the teams participated to the best of their ability. After the two group stages were completed it was left to Willingdon and Southdown to battle it out for the Plate competition, and Chyngton and Cradle Hill left to fight for the priceless prize of winning the Cup competition. Willingdon finally overcame Southdown on penalties 5-4. When Cradle Hill met Chyngton in the Cup final the game was not as close and Cradle Hill triumphed 4-0.

A great day was had by all and the BTEC students would like to thank the schools who attended the tournament in assisting them towards their BTEC Sport course work.
