Ben Boorman

Eleven year old Ben Boorman from St Bede’s Prep School was recently awarded the prestigious Player of the Season Award from Heathfield & Waldron Rugby Club. Not only was it a huge honour to be chosen out of 25 plus boys but the occasion was made even more special as Simon Shaw who plays for England and of course played for The Lions in the summer personally handed out the awards.

Duncan Hesketh the Head Coach at Heathfield said: ‘Ben has had a very good season – he consistently attended training and had excelled in his talent – but for me he grew as a team player, looking to pass the ball rather than simply running with it to score a try – he out performed himself and became a true team player’.
