Charlie Carr on his way to the top

The new opera Knight Crew recently premiered at Glyndebourne and was a huge success receiving some wonderful local and national reviews.

One person in particular who was especially excited about the opening was twelve-year-old Charlie Carr from St Bede’s Prep School who was part of the chorus. A spokesperson from Glyndbourne said: ‘All the young people involved in the chorus and orchestra were a huge credit their schools and we were very proud of the work they achieved. Working alongside the professional performers and production team their commitment, enthusiasm and skills were exemplary. We hope it will be an experience that they will treasure for a long time’.

The project has also been followed by a television documentary which will be broadcast on BBC2 in June this year entitled Gareth Goes to Glyndebourne.
