Eastbourne Youth Arts Festival

This year as part of the exciting new Eastbourne Youth Arts Festival running from 19th-25th April, St Bede’s Prep School is hosting three events.

‘The Eastbourne 100’ is an Eastbourne Schools’ Art Exhibition in which ten local schools will submit 10 pieces of art to be displayed in St Bede’s Prep School; there will be a public viewing on Saturday 24th April from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Each school will also be invited to submit a collaborative piece of work to be exhibited outside, called ‘The People Panels’: a life-size MDF outline of a person per school will be filled with art work that celebrates their particular school. These will be assembled and mounted on a fence that runs alongside the field/playing area within St Bede’s.

As part of the Festival, a concert performed by Indie band ‘MyElement’ will take place in St Bede’s Sports Hall at 2pm on the 20th April, for Eastbourne schools.

On Thursday 22nd April, 120 pupils from ten Eastbourne secondary schools will take part in a dance workshop at St Bede’s which will be led by ex-Rambert and Stomp dancer, Peter Francis. At the end of the day at 6pm there will be a special performance to the pupils’ parents.
