Eastbourne Youth Radio 2011
This is St Bede’s Prep School’s second time taking part in Eastbourne Youth Radio. Known locally as EYR it is a scheme that allows pupils and students of all ages to learn and take part in a radio production, from scripting, editing and presenting to post production.
Fame is the theme of St Bede’s Prep School’s breakfast radio show on Friday November 18th from 7 to 8 am which will be broadcast on a local FM frequency of 87.7FM and worldwide via the internet.
What is fame? Why do people seek it? What is it like to be famous? Is it strange to be recognised wherever you go? Why do we take part in talent shows? Is it difficult to be the child of a famous celebrity? Hear the answers to these questions from broadcaster David Dimbleby, top Wimbledon tennis umpire Gerry Armstrong, Ronnie Corbett’s daughter Emma, Britain’s Got Talent guitarist Jack Turner, singer from the X Factor Daryl Markham and professional footballer Matthew Armstrong-Ford, amongst others.
The pupils from St Bede’s Prep School will also have a telephone link with Fame School of the Performing Arts in New York, with student Ciaran Bowling, who moved from Eastbourne to New York to develop his acting career and who will tell us about life at Fame and what’s going on in New York. And, of course, the stars will be allowed to choose or play their own choice of breakfast music.
With the morning’s news and weather as well and a celebrity quiz, it should be a great way to start the day!
St Bede’s Prep School would like to say thank you to their sponsors, catering company, 3663, www.3663.co.uk
