Geva Mentor at St Bede's Senior School
Netballers were invited to a training master class and work shop at St Bede’s Senior School with England’s Geva Mentor, just days before she was off to compete in the Commonwealth Games.
Geva arrived in the morning and ran three different workshops to ensure that all netballers of different ages and abilities were kept busy and put through their paces.
In the early morning session Year 8 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School linked up with the U14 team to learn new skills and drills with the England player. The Prep School pupils enjoyed this opportunity to visit the Senior School, train in the international standard Sports Hall with the older girls and pick up tips from a top level athlete.
Later on Geva took a session with the St Bede’s senior squad that is due to go on tour to Barbados. This was a great opportunity for the talented girls to learn tips from the best and gain knowledge of the little things that will make them better players.
After Lunch the 1st teams from Moira House School and Hurstpierpoint College were invited to join the St Bede’s Senior Schools 1st team for a training session with England’s goalkeeper. This was an intense session with the girls focusing on sharpening their existing skills rather than learning new ones.
Geva is now off to Delhi to represent England at the Commonwealth Games.
