History in Brass

Two delightfully learned ladies from History In Brass visited Year 6 pupils at St Bede’s Prep School recently to hold a workshop in Brass Rubbing. The children learnt more about life and times of the medieval period in England and what the memorial brasses were for. The pupils were surprised at just how careful one needs to be to take a detailed brass rubbing. However, after much care and precision all the children produced beautiful pieces which are now mounted on the walls of their Integrated Studies classrooms, ready for them to take home at Easter.
