Home Baking Raises an Impressive Contribution

Once again, St Bede’s involved themselves, along with the rest of the nation in the Macmillan's World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Year 4 hosted this extremely worthwhile (and scrummy) event in their classrooms, selling the most spectacular selection of cakes. Having started the morning at 8.15 with empty tables, by 9.15 they were filled with the most tempting, delicious looking cakes which seemed to magically appear from nowhere.

Classes 4P and 4F were highly excited at the prospect of being cake salespeople for the morning and they were all so proud of their parents’ contributions, especially if they had helped them with the baking. This was apparent throughout the year-groups and the support was greatly appreciated, particularly as it was the end of the week when so much else seems to stockpile and baking is the last thing on one’s mind!

It was an extremely successful morning. There were enough cakes for the parents to have with their tea and coffee and also for the whole school during their break-time.

We raised the very impressive sum of £459.41 and this is thanks to everyone who took part. For further information about the Macmillan Charity please visit http://www.macmillan.org.uk
