Katya claims the prize

Each year, Lions clubs around the world sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This contest encourages young people worldwide to artistically express their visions of peace.

Wowing the judges with an eye catching piece and taking home the winning place in the Eastbourne ‘leg’ of the competition was eleven year old Katya Goodwin from St Bede’s Prep School. Katya then went on to be awarded second place in the South East District.

The president of the Eastbourne Lions Club, Lynne Flanagan said: ‘It was a surprise and a delight for me as Eastbourne President to accept the prize for Katya at our recent District Convention in Eastbourne. To be voted second in the South East District (which has a total of approximately 70 Lions clubs) is certainly an achievement and shows how talented this young lady is’.
