Macbeth

The end of the Easter term at St Bede's saw Year 5 tackling a challenging production of an especially adapted version of Macbeth. The play came out of a workshop presented by the 'Shakespeare for Kidz' company, early on in the new school year, when the children gained an introduction to the characters and plot.

The resulting play was a great success, as the entire year group fought, plotted and sang their way through smokey and atmospheric Scottish scenes created by our very talented lighting and effects crew. A School Governor wrote that ‘as an educational experience it achieved its aim as well as providing excellent entertainment’. This confirmed for all of us that our mission had been accomplished!
