Making music

After three weeks of settling in we staged five concerts highlighting a huge mix of musical styles and instruments! Week Four saw the Year Five and Year Six concerts and Years Seven and Eight held theirs in week Five. What was particularly impressive was that many of our new pupils were using music as a means to mix with the long standing students and there were several group performances – some of which were accompanied by pupils. Coffee and biscuits were kindly supplied and served by the Friends of St Bede’s and this made a good ending to each concert.

In the final week of half term some of the Year Seven pupils performed again in the performing arts evening and we are impressed by how ready and willing they are to take to the stage. Our Harvest Festival assembly was spiced up by some songs from both Pre-Prep and the Prep School and it was nice to see so many parents there to appreciate the event.
