Matt wins England Cup

Former student Matt Aldred won his full England Futsal cap recently, playing for the England team against African champions Libya.

Matt, who is a student at Loughborough University, left St Bede’s two years ago, having spent five years at the Senior School and a number of years at the Prep School. He was part of the St Bede’s 1st XI football team of 2006-7 that won the Southern Independent Schools’ cup and were joint Sussex champions.

That season Matt, his brother James and team-mate Zac Attwood, were picked to play in the inaugural independent schools international match against Scotland – making St Bede’s the only school in the country to be represented by more than one player.
