More trophies for Saffron

Saffron Dowse a St Bede’s Prep School pupil, picked up two major titles at the Annual Sussex Lawn Tennis Awards 2010. The luncheon took place on 13th November at the Wickwoods Country Club in Brighton.

Eight-year-old Saffron won the first award of the day taking the U9 Girls Packaging Advantage Masters Event which encompassed all the sanctioned tennis tournaments that Saffron played throughout the year. Points were calculated on wins from each tournament and players were entered onto a leader board as the season progressed. Saffron won enough points to become the outright winner for Sussex 2010.

The second award which Saffron won was the U9 Girls Masters Trophy for finishing top of the table over the summer.

Saffron is in Year 4 at St Bede’s and is still eligible to play in the U8 age group, which makes her achievements even more exceptional.
