Music Assembly

As part of Arts’ Week St Bede’s Prep School held a Music Assembly for the school. After a couple of weeks of pestering and much arm twisting, some of the staff dusted off any instruments they used to play and performed to the school.

To say that it was a morning of musical magnificence would be stretching the truth but it was enormous fun and enjoyed by all. After a piano duet from Mrs Collins and Mrs Adams, further music was performed by Mrs Corbett (voice), Mr Brewer (voice), Mr Bevington (guitar). Mr Bryant dazzled the school with a fantastic jazz clarinet piece followed by the newly formed (if not so dazzling) recorder consort (Miss Winterbottom, Mrs Frame, Mr Allan, Mr Howell and Mrs Morgan). The assembly finished with Mr Peter Pyemont singing London’s Burning ably accompanied by Aaron Swanepoel (Y3) on the ukulele. Further ukulele accompaniment was eagerly provided by Mrs Jenion, Miss Corris, Mrs Rayner, Mrs Fuller, Mrs Howell, Mrs Fraser-Gausden and Mr Sutherland.

The whole event was terrific and testament to the goodwill of the staff here!
