Norman Motte and Bailey castles
Year 6 pupils worked in groups to construct models of Norman Motte and Bailey castles out of clay and toffee apple sticks.
The purpose of these castles and their defensive features was brought to life and complemented the children’s earlier visits to Lewes castle, a fine example of such a castle.
