Holywell Mount - Our New Home

In February 2010 both the Nursery and Pre-Prep will move to Holywell Mount, a beautiful Victorian villa with wonderful sea views.

Holywell Mount is part of the campus but situated in its own garden slightly away from the main school buildings. It is being completely refurbished to meet the needs of the youngest children in the St Bede’s family and will provide light and airy classrooms overlooking the sea and the ‘outdoor classroom’, as well as a dedicated Pre-Prep library.

Children can join St Bede’s Nursery from age 2, and there are plans to open a baby room for babies over 3 months from February 2010.

The Children enjoy a careful balance of free play and more directed activities. They begin to develop literacy and numeracy skills as they work with their class teachers, while specialist teachers take the children for music, dance, swimming and optional tennis and French.

It might look like a building site at the moment, but carpet is being laid, cupboards are installed, furniture has been delivered and it is all systems go to open in February. The snow delayed work on the new roof, but St Bede’s builders are working almost round the clock to catch up.
