The Old Bedes organisation is dedicated to all former students and staff of the Senior School and the Prep School.
Its purpose is to maintain or re-establish contact with those who have left the schools. We hope that we will be able to help people to find friends with whom they have lost touch (please see the ‘Contact us’ page of this website) and, through a series of events and reunions (please see the ‘Upcoming Events’ page), to meet up with other former students and staff from the schools. To get things off to a good start there is a series of reunions planned which will invite ALL former students and staff to an appropriate reunion during the two school years to June 2013.
Thereafter we will be guided by you, the members. A steering committee, made up of former students from different eras, will be formed to help set the direction of the organisation. This group will meet in March each year to discuss the programme for the following academic year. I would be grateful if any former student / member of staff who would like to join this steering group would get in touch with us and let us know (see ‘Contact us’ for details).
Information will be the lifeblood of the new organisation. We need contact details (especially e-mail addresses) so that we can update our database, help former students to contact each other and invite people to events. We need postal addresses so that we can send a regular newsletter to everyone. Above all, we would love to hear how everyone is getting on: qualifications gained; jobs and careers; achievements; significant developments (marriage – name change, babies, etc). Photographs will be particularly welcome. A lively selection of news with photographs will make the newsletter much more interesting.
There is no need to register to become a member – but we do need to know your contact details if we are to include you.
Mandy Waterhouse (Administrator) and I are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible this year. Please get in touch. We place all invitations and updates on this website and on the ‘Old Bedes’ Facebook page.
Regards to all
Derek Newton
