Opening of the swimming pool

Pupils from St Bede's Prep School in Eastbourne made a big splash recently when the newly refurbished swimming pool was officially opened by Headmaster Nick Bevington.

The swimming pool which is the training ground for St Bede's top swimmers, including St Bede's Sussex champion Katherine Horsfall-Turner, has recently undergone huge refurbishment. A state of the art air handling unit that controls the levels of humidity in the air and the air temperature has been installed. The pool has been completely retiled and new steps installed. Exposed brickwork has now been rendered and redecorated. Timber walls have been clad in a PVC material to allow for cleaning. Old heating units have been removed and new shelving installed. Then finally the pool has been steam cleaned and redecorated.

The pupils at St Bede's Prep are thrilled with their new swimming pool and can't wait to show it off when they compete in their next swimming match at home.
