Oscar Night at St Bede's
This year's Media and Film Studies Oscar Night featured a terrific range of television advertisements, trailers and short film projects.
We were treated to marauding zombies, guilty secrets, ‘lost in the woods’ thrillers, double-crossing jewellery thieves, hard hitting social awareness campaigns and some delicate meditations on rejection, isolation and the twists and turns of love .
As ever there were just too many films to show on one evening and we were very sorry not to able to showcase everyone’s work.
Special mentions go to Sina Ostler for her sombre and provocative advertisement against the objectification of women, Hannah Boulting Watts for her unconventional canine love story, Holly Funnell for her lavish period reconstruction trailer and also to Nik Carter for his beautifully constructed heist movie.
Thanks very much for everyone who helped make the evening such a success and see you next year!
