Out and About with the Pre-Prep and Nursery
The Pre-Prep and Nursery have had a busy autumn term. All of the Nursery and Pre-Prep children took part in the annual book week and dressed up as characters from their favourite books. There were some fantastic costumes from Christopher Robin to Spider Man.
Dressing up seemed to be the theme of the term when all the children came to school for the day wearing something spotty in aid of this year’s Children in Need. For a donation of £1 the children came to school in a fantastic variety of spotty ties, coats, head scarves, socks and many Pudsey ears! A raffle was also held to win a Pudsey bear teddy.
All the children in Butterflies made winter soups as part of their ‘winter’ topic and the beginning of November saw everyone enjoy a scary Halloween party.
The boys and girls in Buzzy Bees and Dragonflies enjoyed a taste of France on their imaginary trip in the classroom, whilst a clear autumn day allowed them to enjoy a fun trip on the Dotto Train from the Sovereign Centre to school. Before the start of the rain the children in Buzzy Bees and Dragonflies were also able to enjoy a lesson outside in one of the local parks.
Reception enjoyed an informative trip this term to Friston Forest to look at the changing seasons. The highlight of the trip was collecting leaves to make autumn collages once they were back in their classroom.
Year 1 have been busy in and out of the classroom creating 3D models to look at and measure 3D shapes. They also recently enjoyed a geography trip on the South Downs to explore the area around them.
Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Eastbourne beach looking at man-made and natural structures as well as a trip to Meads Village where they purchased items for homemade apple crumble.
