St Bede’s enjoys an excellent reputation for its football.

The football season normally ‘kicks-off’ with some kind of pre-season at the end of the summer holiday and continues until mid-November.

All age-groups from Year 4 upwards will play football at least 3 times a week with matches virtually every Wednesday and some Saturdays.

All age groups enter at least one tournament (U11’s at Lancing College, U12’s at Ardingly). We are currently the only independent school who take part in the Sussex Cup (quarter finalists in 2005). In 2006 we came 5th in the Prep School ‘Nationals’ (6-a-side). In 2002 we were runners-up.

We tour regularly. In 2006 we toured California. Two years before that we took a squad to Madrid to be coached by Real Madrid’s Youth Coaches (and, yes, we did meet David Beckham!)
