Rugby Union

During the football season the Senior boys will have one rugby lesson a week as ‘pre-season’. Once the season begins, then rugby enjoys the same curriculum time that football did previously and not without success. In the last 12 years our 1st XV have been Sussex County Champions on 3 occasions, most recently in 2009 when the side won all 13 of their matches. In 2003, our U12 team were National Prep School Champions.

We start with ‘Tag’ rugby at an early age and then follow the rugby ‘continuum’, gradually building up to the full 15-a-side game in Years 7 and 8. More and more of our boys play outside school for the likes of Eastbourne, Heathfield and Lewes Rugby Clubs and every year we take thirty players up to Twickenham to watch England play in an Autumn International.
