Friends of St Bede's

The Friends of St Bede’s Preparatory School was set in early 2009 as it was felt that such an organisation would be a great asset to the school. The aim of the Friends is to arrange social events for parents, ex-parents and friends of the school so that they can meet each other and become a full part of our vibrant community and, at the same time, to raise some funds for good causes both within the school and indeed for charity.
Events are staged each term, both social and fundraising. Events organised during previous years include Family Picnic and BBQ, Christmas Fair, Burns Supper, Curry and Quiz Night, Spring Ball, etc.
In addition, regular coffee mornings are held both in school and at the homes of some of the parents to give an opportunity for parents to get together and chat.
Representatives of the Friends attend Open Mornings to meet prospective parents, giving handy advice and answering any additional queries that parents may have. This has proved very useful indeed and most appreciated by the school and other parents.

We work closely with the Friends of St Bede’s Senior School as we are aware that many of our parents have children at both schools. Both associations are mutually supportive and many parents help out with both groups.

Second Hand Uniform

The Second hand uniform shop is run by the Friends Committee. It is open every Friday morning from 8.30 until 9am during term time. During the holidays a timetable of opening times is published.
