Scholars Monologue
Just before the scholarship exams, all the members of the masterclass taking these exams performed their audition monologues to their parents, teachers and friends.
These pieces varied form a traditional American Henry James scene to an excerpt for the film Goodfellas, and from a piece “up to our knees in tadpoles” from Barry Hines’ Kes to a dark Graham Greene story.
The children performed with great poise and a skill born of much hard work and dedication, not to mention admirable talent; the audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Five members of the masterclass have been awarded drama scholarships to their senior schools this year, well deserved.
The school can be very proud of them all!
