Activity Choices
Please note that this page has been left to provide a flavour of our extensive activities program. Please do not try to choose activities for the Autumn term 2010 until you are asked to do so.
We expect the Choices for the Autumn term will be available by the last week of this term and that all choices will be made between Monday 29th June and Monday 31st August
For a complete list of the 210 activities available in the Spring term 2010 click here.
Activities for Summer Term 2010 were available for selection during the last week of the Spring 2010 Term, with some new enhancements.
Choose THREE activities for each day. You MUST choose something active to do each week. You may only submit your activities once, so please choose carefully. Click the SEND button once and wait for the confirmation screen.
Continuing activities
A small number of activities continue on from this year. These include some language lessons, Photography, Textiles and mostly other subject-related activities. Please speak to your teacher about the day(s) on which these are running in September.
Kit requirements for activities
Many activities require that you have your own equipment - mountain/road bike, rackets, musical instrument, camera etc... Sports require games kit or PE kit, as appropriate. Mouth guards are compulsory for contact sports such as Rugby and Hockey.
If you do not have the kit, you will probably not be able to do the activity - check before choosing.
Sporting and other activities
If you want to be involved in a team sport for the school, e.g. Boys' Footbal, Girls' Hockey and Netball, you should attend the relevant trial in the first week of the Autumn term. Most of these sports will find a place for you on a team commensurate with your current ability and you will be allocated to any relevant practice session(s). The Ski Racing team has only limited space and a trial will be held in the first week for all interested students, who will then be informed if they have made the team. Please speak to Miss Wainwright for info.
Scholars in any discipline are expected to attend their appropriate activities - I will be given lists of students.
Charges Guide - You must obtain permission from your parents for any chargeable activities.
Your parents will be contacted at the start of term to inform them of your allocated activities. They will be asked to confirm that you may participate in all chargeable activities, especially those in the 'D' or 'E' categories. Please check with your parents, before choosing expensive activities, that it will be OK for you to do them.
A - no cost; B - £0-£30 per term; C - £30-£60 per term; D - £60-£100 per term; E - over £100 per term;
Your PUPIL CODE can be found on your ID card, or listed on the end of term bill. The format of the PUPIL CODE is 3 letters followed by 3 numbers e.g. ABC123.
