1st XI Boys Coach: Mr Steve Paxton/Mr Michael Krause
Coaching: Steve Paxton is a double World Cup Coach and has played internationally. He has travelled and coached around the world and is currently Director of Hockey at St Bede's, Director of Coaching at Eastbourne Hockey Club and head Coach of Brighton University mens' and womens' teams.
Facilities: A sand dressed artificial turf with floodlights is situated next to the international quality indoor centre where hockey, fitness, indoor pool and conference centre (shortly) is available. St Bede's goal is to be the Centre of Excellence for hockey in the Sussex area.
Number of teams: There are six girls teams and five boys teams covering all age groups.
Fixtures: St Bede's has evolved to include playing fixtures against the top teams in the UK and last year played Millfield and Eton for the first time with Reed's St Georges, Langley and various other public and state schools in the area. With the indoor facility, hockey is played all year round at St Bede's. The girls play the fixtures in the Autumn term.The boys play in both the Autumn and Spring terms and both have a full fixture list. The girls have a development team that plays in the Ladies Sussex League and this gives them experience in playing in a senior league. Most of the Athletes play in club teams which is encouraged.
All fixtures are played on Astro turf. Indoor Internationals between Dutch, German and English schools will be played at the School between November and December.
Dress: Green and white with black shorts/Skirts
Notable achievements: There are a large number of county players in all age groups. Past pupil Dilly Newton has represented GB U21 whilst the following boys have represented South East England, Phillip Glazbrook, Matthew Wadman, Joseph Kelly and Jamie Hayes.
