Draft Constraints and Opportunities Analysis Consultation
St Bede’s Masterplan
A masterplan for St Bede’s School is appropriate at this point in time because the school campus has grown and developed over the years, and has reached a point when the delivery of much needed elements needs to be integrated within the context of its village and landscape setting and within its existing buildings, spaces and movement corridors.
The masterplan is intended to meet a number of objectives:
• To provide an urban framework in which to set new buildings and the regeneration of poor areas of the campus
• To provide an opportunity for improvements and enhancements where possible
• To define and protect the landscape and village setting of the school campus
• To define, and aid the delivery of new and required school facilities
• To provide certainty to local amenity groups and the residents of Upper Dicker
The Constraints and Opportunities Analysis is the first step for the St Bede’s masterplan. St Bede’s is consulting the community on the findings of the draft Constraints and Opportunities analysis during a six-week consultation period running from 15th January 2012 to 26th February. Once the consultation period is complete, the draft document will be updated. The final Constraints and Opportunities document will be used to take forward the second stage; the Principles for Change.
All written comments and contributions about the draft Constraints and Opportunities Analysis should be posted to The School Secretary, St Bede’s School, Upper Dicker BN27 3QH. We would also be delighted to receive emails, which should be sent to derek.newton@stbedesschool.org.
