Staff member in charge: Mr Jon Royce

Coaching: Jon Royce was Head Coach to the Great Britain Women’s Olympic Hockey Team. He coached England and Scotland Senior Men’s teams. Jon has won over dozen National titles from Under 13 to adult National Championships, many of the players who have passed through his hands have gone on to play National League and representative hockey including a number who will be involved in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The coaching staff also includes Eastbourne Hockey Club 1st XI players Rob Cornell and Matt Minster and the experienced Michael Krause.

Facilities: A sand filled artificial turf with floodlights is situated next to the international quality indoor centre where hockey, fitness, indoor pool and conference centre (shortly) are available.

Number of teams: There are five girls’ teams and five boys’ teams covering all age groups.

Fixtures: St Bede's has evolved to include playing fixtures against the top teams in the UK and last year played Millfield and Whitgift for the first time with Reed's, St Georges, Langley Park and various other schools in the area. With the indoor facility, hockey is played all year round at St Bede's. The girls play the fixtures in the Autumn term. The boys play in the Spring term. All fixtures are played on artificial grass. A number of the athletes play in club teams; this is encouraged.

Dress: Green and white with black shorts/skirts

Notable achievements: There are a number of current county players at St Bede’s . Alicia Caillard was a member of the England U16 National Squad. Past pupil Dilly Newton has represented GB U21, Lauren Allymohamed was a member of the England U17 High Performance Centre whilst the following Old Boys have represented South East England, Phillip Glazbrook, Matthew Wadman, Joseph Kelly Steve Perry, Pat Skinner, Nick Paxton, Theo Dowse and Jamie Hayes.
