Outdoor Pursuits Trip
Each year we take our First Year students on an Outdoor Pursuits Expedition. The expedition has proved enormously popular with our students in the past. It provides an opportunity for all new students to participate in adventurous activities in a safe environment and has proved to be a great ‘bonding’ experience for all.
The expedition takes place over five days from 17 - 21 October and involves the whole of the first year going to the YHA centre in Edale, Derbyshire. Fully qualified, professional instructors lead groups in a number of exciting activities in
this beautiful part of the country. These include:
• Rock climbing
• Weaselling
• Caving
• Hill walking
• Abseiling
• Adventure assault Course
• Canoeing
• Night Navigation
• Orienteering
• Leadership skills
The trip is optional but students are strongly encouraged to take part and few do not.
