Shakespeare for Kidz

Pupils in Year 5 at St Bede’s Prep School attended their annual workshop in school with the talented ‘Shakespeare for Kidz’ company. During this session the pupils were familiarised with the plot and characters of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in preparation for their theatre trip the following week. There they watched a performance of the play by the company.

It was outstanding and clearly enjoyed by a packed audience of Year 5 children from all over the area. The children were particularly delighted by the performances of ‘Puck and Bottom’. They clearly felt a sense of personal involvement with the characters that they had played during the workshop. It was truly a high quality and marvellously whole experience of ‘theatre’ for them.
