Sports Day

It was a cold and blustery day this year but the competition was as fearsome as ever with the houses giving of their best. There were some great performances from our top athletes with Jono Ketley storming away in the Boys 800m and Tom Hesslenberg just holding off the challenge from Andrew Horsfall Turner in the 1500m.

The girls were dominated by the duo of Maddy Smith and Abi Ashbee Simmonds in the middle distance events. George Marsh ran a brilliant 200m as he left the rest trailing in his wake. The 100m race was won by Jared Bernadin and Jay Amin took the 400m race for Dorms to open up a lead at the start of the day.

The bronze medal position was only decided in the final race with Deis winning the 32x100 relay and collecting the 12 points as they squeaked past Knights to be third overall, vindicating Mr Dickie selection policy in this traditional event.

It was thrilling to see that as the afternoon progressed Dicker caught Dorms up on the score board and overtook them. However, as ever on this day, the relays were always going to be of great importance and although the boys in Dorms tried their best the gap could not be narrowed.

Well done to Dicker on their hat trick of titles.

The final scores were as follows:

Dicker 315
Dorms 296
Deis 282
Knights 279
Stud 220
Camberlot 172
