St Bede’s Pupils help secure Chicks with Sticks title

Five St Bede’s Prep School pupils were part of the Eastbourne Hockey team that have just won the Sussex Girls’ Development League. The team won 18 of their 21 games, only losing two matches against teams from all over Sussex including Brighton, East Grinstead, Lewes and Horsham.

Their coach said: ‘Winning the league is a fantastic achievement for a team that has only been playing together for one season, and for a team whose average age is at least two years younger than most other teams.’

Three of the St Bede’s girls, Grace Baron, Holly Goble and Georgia Horsman have also been playing in the U14 Cup League, which Eastbourne also won and they are now off to play at the regional finals in Reading after Easter.
