St Bede's cricket girls get coaching from Sussex Ladies Champions
Members of the Sussex Ladies Cricket team – current national champions – spent an afternoon at St Bede’s Senior School recently coaching the school’s girl cricketers and also the Prep School’s U13 team who are currently county champions.
The training session was very successful and marked the start of a busy season for girls cricket at both schools. Girls at the Senior School can play every afternoon and an U15 squad and U18 squad are competing in local leagues and entering tournaments.
The U13 squad at the Prep School are the current Sussex champions and recently lost to strong opposition in the regional finals in Hatfield.
Charlotte Burton, Head of Sussex coaching said: ‘ St Bede’s has a great set up for cricket and it is really encouraging to see so many more young women taking up the sport.’
