St Bede's pupils travel back in time

St Bede's Prep School pupils travelled back through time recently when they participated in a Victorian Workshop. The workshop is designed to support teachers in delivering creative, fun and informative lessons to pupils on the Victorian Era. The workshop goes beyond the curriculum to foster children's understanding of Victorian Children's lives and the time period.

The day kicked off with a bang when the St Bede's pupils, were marched into the schools theatre by school masters and mistresses dressed in full Victorian clothing, and not afraid to shout! Once the pupils had a taste of what it was like to be in a Victorian school they were then divided into groups, to take part in role plays which they would then late on act out in front of the other groups.

The Victorian morning was a great success, not only did the workshop further pupils' understanding of a day-to-day life from the viewpoint of Victorian children, and develop their understanding of children's lives in relation to their own, but they also had a great time too.
