St Bede’s does not accept responsibility for any claims arising from a student or third party. Travel insurance (with Gibbs Denley) is provided for all students attending a St Bede’s course at no extra cost.
This summary of cover does not contain the full terms and conditions of the policy. A full copy of the policy wording is available, if required. This insurance is underwritten by ACE European Group Limited (ACE).

In the event of a claim, you pay the excess (if applicable) and the Insurance Company pays the rest up to the limit.
There are some situations for which the insured person is not covered. These generally involved anything the insured person already knows about or that are caused by deliberate or illegal acts on the part of the insured person or whilst the insured person is outside Europe.
The most significant exclusions of this policy are set out below:
Claims due to the following causes will not be paid:
- persons aged under 7 or over 70 years
- losses occurring during trips outside Europe
- participation in aerial pursuits, winter sports, air travel other than as a fare-paying passenger, hazardous activities or travel on a motorcycle over 125cc
- consequential losses of any nature
- medical expenses in the country of domicile
- unattended valuables unless suitably locked away
- loss or theft not reported to the police within 24 hours
Insurance cannot be offered for professional sportsmen or professional entertainers.
Please note that St Bede's cannot make claims on behalf of students. It is the parents' responsibility to make any claims directly with the Insurance Company.
