Sussex 20-20 Cricket Champions
Chasing the triple
St Bede's U15 cricketers retained the title of Sussex 20/20 champions this week and will now go forward to the Regional finals.
In the semi-final St Bede's played Warden Park and, bowling first, with some extremely accurate bowling and tight fielding, restricted them to just 71. St Bede's cruised to victory in the 14th over with 8 wickets to spare.
The final saw St Bede's matched against a strong Brighton College fielding several Sussex Youth players. Again St Bede's bowled very well and never let Brighton dictate the game. They posted a total of 107. St Bede's timed their chase to perfection, surpassing the Brighton total for the loss of just 2 wickets and with more than an over to spare.
St Bede's U15s are also looking to retain the County Cup and Blackshaw Cup - the Sussex Independent Schools Cup - having won the triple last year.
