The Royal Wedding Fundraiser
Pupils from St Bede’s Prep School took the opportunity to raise money for charity when they celebrated the royal wedding recently. The children celebrated and raised money for the earthquake fund appeals for New Zealand and Japan with a mufti-day where they wore red, white and blue clothes. The Pre-Prep and Nursery children had a street party for which they helped to prepare some of the food and also made hats to wear. The staff joined in the celebrations by dressing up to attend a wedding, either as guest or as a bride and groom, of which there were several.
All the children and staff enjoyed a traditional British lunch of ‘bangers and mash’ followed by apple pie and custard and were given a slice of wedding cake prepared by the school chefs.
At the end of a fantastic day the children and staff had raised £564 to be given to the earthquake fund appeals for New Zealand and Japan.
