Trip to Good wood sculpture park
To start their summer term sculpture project St Bede's Year 7 pupils set off in the rain for the Good wood Sculpture Park near Chichester recently.
Undeterred by the weather, the forest canopy absorbing some of the wetness, the pupils had a wonderful time at this exceptional site. Set in 20 acres of bluebell woodland there was plenty of space to run around and enjoy the winding paths that led to over forty sculptures. Each turn revealed another surprise: all subject to the vagaries of weather and change (this included the toilets! which to everyone's amazement were an outdoor sculpture in their own right).
The visit closed with a trip to the visitor centre, where the children examined the tiny models and maquettes made as preparation for these monumental creations.
