Trip to The National Gallery
Year 6 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School recently visited the National Gallery in London for a thoroughly enjoyable educational experience. The pupils were met by the Education department and split into two groups to look at three incredible paintings, at which point the pupils responded to questions with impressive insight and understanding. Everyone appeared fascinated to see Holbein’s famous painting 'The Ambassadors' and many other incredibly famous works of art by Van Gogh, Monet , Degas, Picasso and Valasquez, most of whom the pupils recognised. Upon their return to school the pupils will be turning their observations at the National Gallery into their own masterpieces in this terms Symbolism and Portraiture project.
