Victory over Reading puts St Bede's in the last 16 of the English School U18 National Competition

St Bede’s have made it through to the last 16 of the English School U18 Football National competition with a hard fought 2 – 0 victory over Reading School.

The weather conditions made the game an even more difficult one to get a hold of but the St Bede’s players made every attempt to play with their usual fluid style up against a strong Reading Side. A dominant performance in the first half finished with St Bede’s going into the interval 1 – 0 up courtesy of a James Norwood goal. Reading School came out for the second half fighting and had a number of chances to tie the game up but some outstanding goalkeeping from Nii Olemmu and some solid defending from Michael Brown, Macsen Lake Edwards, Josh Davey and Pat Murray kept them at bay. James Norwood made the game safe with a cool finish to a fine team move mid way through the second half and St Bede’s then took control to see the game out.

The boys play either Millfield or Ivybridge Community College in the last 16 at home in the next couple of weeks
