Visit to Eastbourne Town Hall

Budding politicians were seen to be emerging as Year 3 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School visited Eastbourne Town Hall as part of their PSHE studies. The pupils learnt about the working of the council and were able to see inside the Mayor’s Parlour.

The St Bede’s pupils were lucky enough to have the Mayor’s chauffer and Mace Bearer to tour them around the Town Hall and tell them about the history of the building and of the past mayors of Eastbourne. Inside the Mayor’s Parlour the pupils were able to view the Mayoral Chain of office and even have a go at carrying the official mace.
