Windlesham House, which was the first school in the country to be established as a preparatory school, was founded in 1837 and has occupied its current location since 1934. Windlesham lies in grounds extending across 65 acres in the South Downs countryside in West Sussex and is within easy reach of Brighton, London and Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. The spacious campus creates a real sense of freedom and this, combined with its secure and safe location, make is an ideal centre for teenagers.

Students. Ages 10 to 15. Up to 200 students per week from many different countries. Native English students will join the programme for afternoon and evening activities.

Accommodation. Most bedrooms have 2 to 6 beds and some larger very spacious rooms with up to 8 beds are also available. Bedrooms have a bed and wardrobe space and bathrooms are shared. Some boarding houses have their own communal spaces for students to relax.

Programme. There is a full programme including lessons and a wide range of sports, activities, clubs and Sports Academy options to choose from. There is evening social entertainment and 2 excursions per week.

Lessons. There are 22½ hours of lessons per week (4½ hours per day) including General English Skills, Language Activities and Project Lessons.

Sports Facilities. Sports facilities include tennis courts, sports hall, swimming pool, playing fields, dance & drama theatre, astro-turf and 9-hole golf course.

Services. Computer suite for access to internet (filtered) and email. St Bede's tuck shop for drinks and snacks. Student common room with sofas, music, board games, table tennis, TV, etc. Laundry is done for students at least twice per week.

Care. St Bede's staff live in the same houses as the students and care for them 24 hours a day. The House Parent is responsible for all students in each boarding house. There is access to medical care if students are sick.
