Year 5 French trip

Yr 5 French Trip 2010

Despite being delayed by 3 hours at the shuttle terminal in Folkestone, having to rearrange the visit to Nausicaa Aquarium on Sunday and it raining as soon as we entered Parc Asterix, everyone agreed that this was a fantastic trip.

The visit to the market in Dieppe gave us the opportunity to practise our French bartering skills and brightly coloured hates and necklaces were the most popular items bought.. Madame Metcalf was the only person to buy some mops.

The Musee de la Mer had lots of information about fishing in Dieppe.

We went to a cheese farm at Neufchatel which means Newcastle in French. The lady farmer was very strict and made us work hard to remember French words about making cheese. We were able to try some cheese and some people bought some to take home.

There was lots to see at the Nausicaa Aquarium. Most people thought the sea lions were best because they were playing in the water and it looked like they were wrestling. There was a huge shark which had big teeth and was very scary.

We all got wet at Parc Asterix but we did not mind. Some people bought candyfloss to eat. Some of us went on the rollercoaster 4 times and we did not feel sick once.

We drove around Paris and saw the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph and Notre Dame. Our driver had never driven in Paris before but he was very good and did not have an accident!

It was a great trip and we all want to go again.
