Year 5 trip to Herstmonceux Science Centre

Year 5 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School enjoyed an extremely informative trip to Herstmonceux Science Centre on a gloriously sunny day on Tuesday 2nd March.

Highlights of the day included seeing the mechanical roof to one of the telescopes opening and revolving, as well as bridge building exercises and a waterworks area. There were also numerous 'hand on' activities for the pupils to carry out their own scientific observations and experiments. These focused on many areas of the curriculum, including solids and liquids, forces, electricity and sound - to name a few! The pupils (and teachers!) had a fantastic time. Polly McCarthy said: "I really enjoyed seeing the roof of the telescope opening and moving," and Robbie Lees (along with many others) enjoyed the waterworks and the Discovery Park.
