Year 6 trip to Canterbury
Year 6 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School made their annual pilgrimage to the shrine of St Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral. They saw for themselves the very site where he was brutally murdered and the site where miracles were prayed for after his death. The children marvelled at the general magnificence of the Cathedral and learned about the great skill and craftsmanship in building it in a workshop.
The pupils also visited The Canterbury Tales, where they heard some of the stories that pilgrims told each other en-route to Canterbury, as put together by Chaucer.
