Year 6 trip to Lewes Castle
On a clear autumn day Year 6 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School took the opportunity to visit Lewes Castle, a fine example of a Norman motte and bailey castle. The pupils learnt all about how the castle was built and its defensive features, discovering interesting words such as portcullis and machicolations. At the end of the visit the pupils were able to participate in a medieval artefacts workshop and watch a very informative video about the history of our County Town.
